KEBE successfully concluded its 2025 Media Lunch in Athens

KEBE invests in innovation once again, presenting the next generation of lightweight clay blocks

Demonstrating its continuous commitment to innovation in the building materials sector, Keramourgia Voriou Ellados – KEBE proudly presents a pioneering new series for Greece — the next generation of lightweight clay blocks. These new blocks, set to launch in the Greek and international markets in 2026, maintain the same mechanical strength while offering significantly reduced weight.

The development of the new blocks is the result of years of research and responds to the construction industry’s growing demand for lighter, more efficient, and environmentally friendly products. To date, KEBE has already achieved a 10% weight reduction compared to conventional clay blocks, aiming to reach a 20% reduction by 2026.

This reduction in weight offers multiple advantages: it improves daily work conditions for professionals, making construction faster and easier, while simultaneously reducing costs and transportation needs. Moreover, by enabling the transport of more products per truckload, overall transport requirements are minimized.
At the same time, the manufacturing process itself has been optimized, leading to reduced CO₂ emissions and a lower overall environmental footprint.
In this way, KEBE reinforces its strong commitment to sustainable development, a core pillar of its corporate strategy.

The new products will be available in both the Greek and international markets, covering all needs for internal and external masonry.
This strategic move coincides with KEBE’s 90th anniversary, highlighting the company’s enduring ability to combine experience and technical expertise with continuous innovation — delivering solutions that meet the challenges of tomorrow.

Mr. Agis Kothalis, President & CEO of KEBE, stated: “For us, reducing the weight of our products is not just a technical improvement; it is proof of our commitment to offering solutions that respect both people and the environment. With our new product line, we bring to the Greek market an innovative solution that combines durability, lighter weight, and sustainability — contributing meaningfully to our vision for a structurally better world.”

Through this new investment in research and development, KEBE continues to play a leading role in the building materials industry, reaffirming that even after nine decades of operation, the company remains firmly oriented toward the future — delivering high-value solutions for a world in constant evolution.
